I believe you show no proof for your comments. You lack in intellectual argumentation. Who are you and why should I even care what you say. How many times have you been to Haiti and how much money of your own have you ever given to their cause. It is easy to criticize without having to give proof. I do know that Robertson has been around for along time. You may hate his views (as it comes across plainly in your disposition) ,but critics are just what they are. They never really make a difference because they never get in the fight themselves because they can't take getting criticized. Read a good leadership book and then go out and roll up your sleeves and really help people in need. Then if you do halve as much for the needy as you criticize others for not doing you can gather your facts and criticize the fakes in our society not just the one's you don't like.
Although this blog hasn't reviewed Ellerbe's, the Bon Appetit blog has and they say that Ellerbe's is one of the Top 10 Best New Restaurants in the United States. Check out the Bon Appetit blog. One favor though - for all of you who follow that link, don't start expecting quality reviews like Bon Appetit provides. Also note that dallas di […]
Mamma Mia's has recently taken over the old Palermo's location on Magnolia. We've switched out Italian restaurants and I daresay, we traded up. If you'll remember, which you no doubt will, I was quite impressed with the scrappy little Palermo's. That dirty hole in the wall that had lasted for years on Magnolia even when little else w […]
My real FWHITW resolutions: 1) Go to the following places in the new year: ... Nona Tata Over two years ago I made this New Year's Resolution to visit Nonna Tata. That was before 2008. I finally made it, but it took until 2010. Nonna Tata is the Southside sensation that has filled its small space every night with crowds waiting outside for some deliciou […]
Recently, there was an article in the Star-Telegram about Las Vegas Trail in Fort Worth and how it used to be the hip cool place to live. The time period of its reign was sometime in the 80's. Picture bowling teams, Dales, Rhondas. and lots of rolled up sleeves on suits. That's what was going on in Fort Worth's little Vegas. Although by the lo […]
Sitting in a small strip center off of Forest Park is a Greek restaurant which has been around longer than me. The Greek House moved to the Forest Park Restaurant Row (Greek House, Sapristi, Ruffino's, Grady's) years ago, but existed long before that. It's run by an older couple that I can only assume are the parents of the World's Number […]
You may recall that I recently found a great Thai place. Well, Fort Worth has another great Thai place (that makes three when you add in Thai Tina). Junsuree was recommended by many of you folks through emails, comments, threatening bricks thrown through the official HITW hideout, etc. But finally, some "locals" who are somehow related to Sarah Pal […]
Did you hear that Fort Worth will be hosting ESPN for Super Bowl week? dallas is pissed (according to the Observer website). Turns out, nobody in dallas really knows whats going on over here. So I'm going to extend an informal invitation to the people of the Near East to come and enjoy our town. To entice them, here is a hole in the wall bar review. Hav […]
For too many years, Flying Fish has sat collecting dust in the "Is it a hole" department. Something about it seemed chainy. It fit so well into its environment that it confused the department's editors. After a recent visit, I pulled it out of the department. It is in fact a small chain with about five or six other locations. However, bec […]
I've updated the format and layout of the blog for the first time in three years. At some point, I'll also be removing many of the tags that seem useless in order to make them more streamlined. This way you'll just see a list of basic restaurant types, with a few tabs for "patio" and a few other useful things. If you've got any […]
Alright all you Fall Foliage Fanatics, its time to get out and show yourself...so we can judge you harshly. And where is the best place to view the Fort's Fall Foliage? Near the trees, obviously. George's Specialty Foods on White Settlement faces the Trinity, northwest of downtown and all the large trees along the river bank. When the weather is ni […]
