Russell left here at 1000 hours and took the bus to get his Texas state ID. He got home at 1930 hours. He had to take a number to get his state ID and the wait was three hours. Just think if he was trying to renew a driver’s license or take the test how long he would have been there.
I know they deal with a lot of people and I am sure they try and hold down staffing to save money etc.
But I think there is something wrong…Poor management…Poor design … Something is wrong.
I am not sure how it works in Texas. Do they not have private offices were you can get some of this sort of thing done? Also do they only have one location in Fort Worth? Something is wrong in the state of Denmark.
I am going to have to get a new driver’s license for Texas. My current one is from FL. If I end up spending three hours there that would mean I would be visiting their restroom four or five times in three hours. Russell said one guy did not respond when they called his number and they made him get at the end of the line and start over. The walked out.
Plus Russell said that they would mail him his state ID in a month or so! In Missouri and Florida they hand it to you right on the spot.
My current Florida license expires in March of 2013. I also do not have a car so I may not need to get over there and get a Texas ID. By the way.. I had a Texas DL before I went to FL.
I suspect that I am going to need a Texas ID to get a discount bus pass of some sort.
I of course need to register to vote here in Texas. Not sure that it matters a great deal. A Democratic left wing voter here will not even be noticed! Hell the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, turned down $555 million in stimulus money for unemployment insurance because he is a Republican. That was money that would have been a big help to Texas and the people that live here.
Texas is 49th, out of 50 states, in residents having completed high school. In physical exercise the state is 42. I guess that explains part of the reason for the slow service at the DMV.
At a tea party protest (04/15/2009) Governor Rick Perry left the door open for Texas to leave the United States. His spokesperson later said he "never advocated seceding" the union. I would only add he never advocated seceding at this time but left the door open to doing it later. I think for a Governor of a state to say and act the way he did and given the history of the United States that I would consider that to be pretty much treason.
But I do not think my vote will be needed right now. There is going to be an election for Governor and the only one that can win is a Republican and Rick Perry has a big lead right now.
