CNN has a story about a World War II vintage T6 plane crashing in waters off of Florida’s Panhandle. I do not think they have a lot of details yet.
You know there are a lot of places that will take you up in an old plane for a fee. I am a history buff and movie fan and I would like to fly in some of those old different planes. I think it would be pretty neat to ride in some of them.
Next time I watched some WWII war movie I could say I have been in one of those planes.
When I was living in Carrollton TX and working FAA control tower security there was a place near were I was working that would take you up in different planes for a fee. I never got around to doing it.
When I was working hospital security in Orlando FL there was a field near the hospital that had old planes and they would take you up for a fee. I saw a number of WWII planes flying over the hospital and I could pick them up on my ham radio.
I hope get up in the air one of these days. When I was working in Carrollton and Orlando and Miami I could have come up with the money. I should have done it then. It would be hard to come up with the money now.

Here is the place when I was working Carrollton: Cavanaugh Flight Museum
They have a PT-13 Stearman and a AT-6 Texan you can ride in and the price is $195.00 and $275.00 for a half hour.
The photo at the left is a Boeing PT-13C.
