I been waiting for the Charter Communications first bill to get here.  I got it and here is what I find about it.

I am not upset or crazy about the bill.  That was my fear before I got the bill.  I had ordered the “Charter Bundle” and that would have been with “Free Installation” for Charter Cable TV (9.99), Charter High-Speed (29.99) and Charter Telephone (19.99) a month and been $59.97 a month.
Notice the “30-day Risk-Free Trial!”
When the install guy came he said they only had an order to install Internet plus he told me that they could not install any outlets or run any cable or do any sort of install. All he could do is turn on an outlet that was already in the living room.
So I could not have an outlet for Internet or TV in my room which is what I wanted.
Plus he was to collect $79.99 for “installing” and the first month fee.
I paid him and he turned on the internet service using their modem.  He left.
I called the Charter office.
They said all it showed is I  had ordered was Internet service.  I said OK that is all I want since you can not install anything.  The guy on the phone checked and said  … yes they can not do any installing of anything in apartments in Fort Worth.  I said OK.
I said what about 10M down instead of the 5M down in speed.  He said it was $10.00 more and that he could do it right now on the phone and he would give me the first month free.  I said great.  So he attempted to set it up and their modem would not support it.  I said I got a modem and I went and got it and removed their modem and he set it up on my modem.
Now I get their bill.  They have not given me credit yet for the $80.00 I paid the “install” guy.  I am sure it will turn up on their computer system soon. I am not worried about that.  I do object to the $49.99 “install” fee but I understand that the install was free if you ordered the bundle service which I did but they showed up and only did the Internet.  But I could live with the “install fee” if in fact they did some sort of install.  I do not think they should charge apartment people any install fee, in Fort Worth, if all they do is flip a switch.  But I am not going to fight over that with them.
The other thing is the $10.00 fee for the higher speed that the guy on the phone said I would not have to pay for the first month.  I will call them about that and see if they will give it to me.  If not, even thou I am as poor a church mouse, I will not fight over that.
The other thing is we are using my own modem now so they need to take off the $5.00 for the “Internet Modem Lease” and I am sure they will correct that.  I am not sure how I get their modem back to them.
What I will end up with is an Internet cost of $40.00 (plus taxes) for 24 months.  I can live with it.

I am paying for 10M down in Internet speed.
